Culture Evolution in the Workplace: A Silver Lining to the Pandemic
The Covid-19 pandemic was the most significant event to impact UK organisations in over 100 years.
During the first few months of the pandemic, Pecan Partnership conducted research with leaders across almost every sector, from SMEs to blue chips. Those leaders shared their insights through surveys and interviews, to help Pecan explore and get under the skin of their experiences. Many of those experiences were deeply challenging: uncertainty, isolation, the juggle of home-schooling, long hours.
However, our research also found evidence of some silver linings amongst the cloudy skies. A few weeks into lockdown clients were surprising themselves by the speed with which they were responding to the crisis. Ways of working that they had attempted to introduce into their culture for years had suddenly got traction and they were achieving the unimaginable in days rather than months.
5 key themes were identified:
- Customer (re)focus
- Caring does count
- Agility at last
- Redistribution of time
These themes, plus other key insights, best practices and lessons learnt were summarised in an insight paper entitled “Culture Evolution in the Workplace: A Silver Lining to the Pandemic”. If you’d like to receive a copy of this paper, please get in touch.
